Air Force Benefits
An exciting, well-paid and rewarding job is just the beginning. In the Air Force you'll enjoy many other benefits too.
Shared experiences are great for bonding and in the Air Force your life will be full of them. Friendships you forge in training could last a lifetime, and with all the travel available you'll soon have mates across Australia and even overseas.
On base you'll find gyms, courts and pools, along with teams you can join covering every code from netball to rugby. Many other activities are available through Air Force clubs too, such as sailing, diving, fishing, water skiing and gliding.
People who join the full-time Air Force are commonly expected to work on a full-time basis. However the ADF has flexible work arrangements available such as the ability to work from home, work from another location or work outside your normal core hours.
With approval from Air Force and subject to service capability requirements, you may be able to work part-time to suit your current situation. Applications will only be considered after completion of recruit and Initial Employment Training, which will typically be several months after appointment/enlistment.
You and your immediate family will benefit from free medical and dental services provided by fully-qualified professionals. Plus, you may receive help with your rent or home loan subsidies if buying.
Exploring at home and abroad is one of the biggest perks of joining the Air Force. On postings and deployments you'll discover new places, meet like-minded colleagues from across the Services and engage with local communities.
